Well...here's straight from Moderna's website.

"The Moderna COVID‑19 Vaccine uses mRNA to provide a blueprint for your cells to build your body’s defense against SARS‑CoV‑2, the virus that causes COVID‑19."

That's how vaccines work...you have to fight the virus. Yes, they are intended to prevent Covid-19, but that doesn't mean they aren't designed to attack SARS-CoV-2 in order to do so.
